And the familiar
Limmud is a learning organisation and Jewish study takes centre stage. Formal learning at Conference is based on traditional Jewish models which, over the years, have developed a particular Limmud spin. At the same time there's also plenty of opportunity for informal learning.
- Conference wouldn't be Conference without the Chavruta Project. Study in traditional Jewish style with a partner every morning and evening, with knowledgeable faciliatators on hand to guide and help. This year's theme is 'time'.
- The beit midrash will be well stocked with source material and will be home over the week to lots of Jewish scholars, eager to engage and be engaged.
- Following last year’s success, Yeshivat Limmud will make a re-appearance. This is an opportunity for a bespoke, in-depth yeshiva-style learning of a range of challenging subjects, with experienced teachers from a wide variety of backgrounds.
- Last year’s special track designed for Jewish communal professionals was a huge success – and we’ll be repeating it this year.
- As always, we've invited some of the most exciting Jewish performers from around the world to entertain and inspire.
- Plus - a profusion of lectures, workshops, discussions and debates to choose from on every topic you can imagine of interest to Jews - from Jewish history to social action, from Israeli politics to the very best in Jewish culture.
- And, of course, the perfect start to your Conference week - Shabbat Limmud. It's a unique way to spend Shabbat, giving you the opportunity to spend the day with Jews from right across the community and from all points of the religious compass. It's a warm, friendly, intimate opening to Conference.
Limmud doesn't organise Shabbat services, but it's open to any participants to do so. If you want to, please get in touch with us so we can tell you if someone's got there before you.
And if you have any greatideas to make Shabbat Limmud even better than it already is - again, do get in touch.
Check back here regularly - we'll be updating this info regularly as our plans firm up.
