Young Limmud Conference 2007 caters for young people aged 5-17. It is broken down into age-groups. Each age-group will have a team of Youth Leaders who will plan and run its activities. As well as working with the youth leader teams, we also have the brilliant Young Limmud Conference 2007 Steering group who support the co-chairs.

Young Limmud Conference 2007 Steering Group:

In addition to the co-chairs and our team of youth leaders, this year we have had a Young Limmud Steering Group who are playing a vital part in the planning of Young Limmud Conference 2007.

Alex Brookes- Education Coordinator

Arieh Miller- Logistics Coordinator

Evie Leviten-Lawton- Teen Advisor

Joel Berkowitz- Young Person Advisor

Revital Schloman- Evening Programme Coordinator

Jude Kay- SEN Coordinator

Vicky Cohen- SEN Coordinator

Breakfast Club:

This year, the Young Limmud Conference day will begin with Breakfast Club. This will include activities run across the age-groups. The activities will include sports, drama, cookery and art. After Breakfast Club, participants will break off into their age-groups for the rest of the day. A Family Chavruta will also be running this year, alongside Breakfast Club so participants will have the opportunity to attend Chavruta with their families instead of coming to Breakfast Club if they choose.

Teen Limmud Participants will have their own Breakfast Club, featuring late breakfasts together and the chance to access the main Conference.

Segments:

A typical day on Young Limmud Conference 2007 will include a number of different sessions which will be child centred and planned for specific age-groups. Young Limmud participants will be visited by presenters from the main Conference. In each presenter session, Young Limmud Participants will have a choice of three different presenters to see.

This year, our presenters include:

Benjamin Shalva,

‘Footprints' and the Young Limmud Day

The theme of this year's Young Limmud Conference is ‘Footprints'  and we will also be exploring this theme on Young Limmud in informal educational activities. The rest of the Young Limmud day will be made up of sports, arts and other activities. Older participants will also have the chance to attend main conference sessions each day.

Main Limmud Confrence Sessions

This year, our teenage Young Limmud Conference participants will have the chance to attend main conference sessions during the Young Limmud day, with our oldest age-groups attending up to two sessions daily.

Volunteering

Teenage Young Limmud Conference Participants will also have plenty of opportunities to get involved in volunteering this year if they would like to. There are volunteering options on both Main Conference and within Young Limmud.

Young Limmud Fete

The Young Limmud Fete will take place this year instead of the Young Limmud Gala. The Fete will be organised and run by participants aged 7-14. 5-6 year olds and older teenagers will also attend the fete. The fete will include displays of work done throughout conference, stalls made by our participants and will feature short performances including songs, music and a fashion show.

5-6's Lunchtime Recital

The 5-6 year-old age-group will have a ‘recital' on the Wednesday of Conference over lunchtime. Parents will be invited for an indoor picnic lunch and the participants will have the chance to show work that they have done during conference and do some short performances for their parents.

Gala Dinner

This year, Young Limmud Conference will be holding a ‘Gala Dinner' for all of its participants on the Wednesday night of Conference. The dinner will feature special activities for all age-groups and performances.

SEN

This year, Young Limmud is happy to welcome participants with special educational needs and learning difficulties. Each participant in our SEN programme will be given a carer to support them throughout the day's activities. There will also be time-out for participants who require it in our designated SEN room.

Evening Activities

This year, there will be a ‘Nite Klub' (formally Pyjama Party) for children aged 7-12. This will feature arts and games activities, a film club, music and presenters who have been specially selected to run exciting evening sessions. This will be from 7:30-10pm.

There will also be a range of options for the Teens this year including a pool room and DJing sessions.

Youth Leader Recruitment

We are now recruiting 'Youth Leaders' (Madrichim). The day for Youth Leaders will run from 10:30-5:30pm (approx). As a ‘Youth Leader' you will be working with a specific age-group and have the responsibility of running and planning activities for them. Please see the pdf information flyer linked to this website for more details and use our online application form if you are interested.
