Getting to Conference

Please note that Conference begins this year on 25th December, when almost all public transport will be suspended. Virgin Trains, London Midland and National Express Coaches will not be operating train services on Sunday 25th December, and will have a reduced service on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th

There are various options for travelling to and from Conference including:

By Limmud Coach

This year we are offering coaches from a wide range of locations, subject to sufficient demand:

  • London – Edgware, Finchley Central, Golders Green, Stanmore and Victoria
  • Heathrow Airport

All coaches will run to Conference on the morning of Sunday 25th December, and back on the afternoon of Thursday 29th December. On Friday 23rd December, only the Golders Green and Heathrow Airport coaches will run. Exact timings and pick-up locations will be available nearer the time, and included in the Joining Instructions which all participants will be sent by e-mail.

Please complete the relevant boxes on your application form to reserve your place. The cost of a coach ticket is £25 each way. If you do not apply for a coach place at first, you can still do this until the coaches are full by phoning the Limmud office on +44 (0) 203 115 1620 or by emailing office@limmud.org.

By Car

This year Conference is located just off the M42, in close proximity to the M1, M5, M6 and M40, with an approximate journey time of 90 minutes from both London and Manchester. To navigate to Limmud Conference 2016 using a satnav system, please enter the postcode: B40 1PP.

There is free parking at all the hotels for Limmud Conference participants (except Genting Hotel - please use the Crowne Plaza car park). If you would like to offer or benefit from a lift in a car, please use the Limmud Carpool Forum

By Public Transport

This year Conference is well connected to the public transport network, with regular coach and train services to the area from around the country – so you can confidently consider leaving the car at home. However, no trains will be running to or from Birmingham International on Sundsy 25th or Monday 26th December

Birmingham International Rail Station is a short walk or cab ride from the hotels and serviced by both Virgin Trains and London Midland. However, please remember that Conference takes place over a national bank holiday period – so do plan your journey with this in mind and book your tickets in good time to get the best prices.

By Airplane

The nearest airport is Birmingham International Airport, which is just a short walk from the Conference hotels and is serviced by all major airlines with flights across Europe and the East coast of America. East Midlands International Airport is one hour's journey

Luton Airport is within 90 minutes, and London Heathrow just over an hour and a half away. These are likely to be the most accessible airports for Israeli and American participants
