Volunteering with Limmud can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. It is a way to see a special event (our own 'Yom Tov') come together, to meet new friends, and to inspire and be inspired by those people who give their time, energy and commitment to something that really matters.
Conference 2007 starts with our first meeting for volunteers (and those who are thinking of becoming a volunteer).
When: Sunday 28th January 2007, 1pm to 4pm
Where: London Jewish Cultural Centre, Ivy House, 94 - 96 North End Road, Golders Green, London NW11 7SX (opposite the Bull & Bush) - 5 minutes' walk from Golders Green tube (check for engineering works - it looks OK at the moment)
We'd love to hear from people who've contributed in the past, and those who are would like to know more about joining the team for the first time.
Please email conference2007@limmud.org:
- to let us you know you would like to be involved in Conference 2007 in some way
- to confirm whether you'll be able to make the meeting on the 28th at Ivy House
- if there's a particular part of the Conference team you'd particularly like to join (unless you've told us already!)
Over the next year, you may be the volunteer who designs the application form, the volunteer who creates Midrash at Midnight, the volunteer who invites your dream presenter, or the volunteer who puts time in to fix something that made you deeply unhappy last year. You all matter and however many - or few - Limmud events you've been to, you'll have something important to offer.
From a personal perspective, I'm pleased that my first e-mail to the wider Limmud community should be about volunteering. It's an important and rewarding part of the whole Limmud experience and I look forward to seeing you on the 28th.
With best wishes
Kevin
