A Festival of Freedom

Here's some of the engaging programming we had in 2007, we're working on a stimulating and vibrant line-up for 2008 - click here for more.

With over one hundred educators and artists, the programme for this year's Limmudfest is the biggest ever. We have presenters coming from near and far to teach, to inspire and to share their learning. In addition to the educational sessions, there will be great entertainment, music, creative arts sessions and dancing going on late into the night.

This year's Fest programme is all about Freedom. We have chosen to spend the August Bank holiday probing the depths and exploring the reaches of the concept of freedom. The weekend offers sessions on the role of freedom in the Jewish tradition, the meaning of freedom in the world today and freedom as a personal value and aspiration.

At Pesach we say: "Bechol dor vador... In every generation, we are obligated to see ourselves as though we personally had gone out of Egypt." Again and again, the Torah reminds us, avadim hayinu - we are the descendants of slaves. At Limmudfest07, we shall celebrate the freedom we have but also explore how true freedom is only possible when it is attained by everyone.

Below are just some of the exciting people that are coming to Fest this year. Are you?
