Limmud in the Woods

A Festival of creativity, learning and community.

For a flavour of the Limmud in the Woods experience look through these pages which refer to the 2016 event. We're currently reviewing plans for 2017 and will provide an update soon.

What is Limmud in the Woods?

Limmud in the Woods is a magical festival of Jewish creativity, learning and community in the great outdoors. We will spend 5 days building our own Limmud community in the countryside, sleeping under canvas and experiencing top quality Jewish learning activities , music and entertainment late into the night. Switch off, expand your horizons and make new best friends in a relaxed, intimate environment where every participant contributes their talents to help create a unique, special experience.

Put off by camping?

...with hot showers, proper toilets and no schlepping involved we make it really easy! We appreciate that sleeping under canvas is not everyone’s cup of tea, but many participants aren’t regular campers and enjoy the special sense of community it fosters. Don’t allow this to let you miss out on the fun – we make it as easy and comfortable as possible for you:
• Hot showers and proper toilets within a few steps
• Volunteers on hand to help you put up/ take down your tents
• No schlepping – unpack/ pack direct from your car

If you’re really not willing to give camping a go you can still join us by doing one of the following:
• Bring a caravan or campervan
• Stay in a local B&B
• Come for Sunday! Banbury station is well connected to London and other parts of the UK.

Get involved

…Build the community

Limmud in the Woods is about building a community. As part of this, we ask all participants to give a little of their time (approx 4 hours across the event). From helping in the kitchen, to schlepping wood for the fire or presenting a session, everyone getting their hands a little dirty helps contribute to the unique nature of the event.
