The Trustee Board is the governing body of Limmud. It is responsible for the governance, stewardship and long-term strategy of the organisation, and has ultimate decision-making authority. The Trustee Board constitutes the formal legal entity of the organisation.
Alan Silman
Alan Silman has been an enthusiastic ‘Limmudnik’ for several years both as an attendee and presenter. He is also currently President of B’nai B’rith Cheshire and has led Jewish heritage and awareness tours to several countries in Europe and in Asia. He has spent his career in medical research, he was the Medical Director of the charity Arthritis Research UK, and is currently Professor of Health at Oxford University.
Ben Crowne, Treasurer
Ben has been a Limmud volunteer for about 10 years. He chaired Limmud Conference in 2016 and has organised programming for a number of events including Conference and the international volunteer gathering Limmud Connect. He is also currently a board member at the Board of Deputies, the S&P Sephardi Community and JW3. Professionally he works as a forensic accountant at Quantuma, a boutique firm.
Carolyn Bogush, Chair of Trustees
Carolyn’s first Limmud was in 1993 as part of the Adam Science Foundation, and since then she has attended many Limmud events and volunteered in a number of roles including Co-Chair of Conference in 2001, and Chair of Limmud Global from 2009–2012. She is also involved in various other communal organisations, including UJS. Professionally Carolyn is an Organisational Psychologist. carolynbogush@limmud.org
Natalie Grazin
Natalie’s first Limmud was in 1994 and she has attended over 20 Conference and Festival events since then, as well as Regional Limmuds the UK and international Limmud events. Natalie created the Limmud Conference Volunteer Development and Care function and held this role in 2004 and 2005 before chairing Limmud Conference in 2006, going on to be a Limmud Trustee from 2007–2009. Professionally, Natalie is a coach and consultant working with NHS and charitable/third sector organisations.
Natan Tiefenbrun
After working for UJS as a sabbatical officer, Natan attended his first Limmud in 1993 as Chair of Programming. Since then he has attended many Limmud events including as Conference Chair in 1994, as Co-Chair of Limmud from 1996–2000, and more recently as a regular participant waiting to be asked to volunteer again. Professionally Natan works in financial services.
Wendy Skolnick
Wendy Skolnick is a new trustee for Limmud. Her first Limmud was many moons ago at Carmel College. Since then she has participated in many Limmud events and was one of the co- founders of Family Limmud. She is also a trustee of a Community Foundation. Professionally Wendy has had a career as a litigation partner in City law firms and is trained as a mediator.
