Limmud’s first-ever Global Volunteer Forum, titled Limmud Connect, took place in Israel in early May 2018.
The focus of the gathering was to review, evaluate and innovate the role of Limmud role in creating a vibrant Jewish future.
Israel’s 70th anniversary provides the perfect opportunity for this inaugural international gathering to reflect on the Jewish future in a changing world.
Limmud reflects and celebrates the diversity of expressions of Jewishness. Passionate activists and advocates from across the global Limmud community, including many young adults, attended and deliberated over where the Jewish people are headed, and set a vision for Limmud’s part in shaping and improving the Jewish world in all its glorious diversity.
Advancing leadership and innovation
Created by volunteers for volunteers, Limmud Connect is about leadership and innovation. Anticipating the challenges ahead, participants discussed harnessing technology, broadening inclusivity; integrating caring for the environment; strengthening international community; applying Limmud values across wider circles; re-imagining volunteerism; and, leading the Jewish community.
Future Limmud Connect events
After the success of our first ever Limmud Connect it will be followed by Global Volunteer Forums in other locations.
