Limmud is for everyone…
Limmud Festival works hard to create an experience that as many people as possible can take part in, and we put accessibility at the heart of how we plan. We can’t guarantee every need can be met, but we want to hear about yours as early as possible so we can do our best to support you.
- All ages – with sessions and activities for people from 0 to 100+!
- Accessibility – with all Limmud programming happening at the Hilton Metropole, we offer accessible programming rooms and bedrooms, and can provide mobility scooters (subject to availability).
- Additional needs – we offer support for participants with additional needs wherever we can. Please indicate your requirements on your registration form and we will get in touch to discuss them further.
- Affordable for everyone – we aim to make Festival financially accessible to all. We know how hard this year has been for many, and Limmud offers a confidential bursary application should you or your family need one this year.
We have a team of volunteers, our Participant Care team, responsible for helping ensure Limmud Festival is as inclusive as possible.
How do I let Limmud know about my medical needs?
Please include details of access, medical or other needs on your registration form, and we will do our best to meet your needs. All information is treated with the strictest confidence.
What support do you provide for participants with additional needs?
Once you’ve completed your booking form, a member of the Festival team will be in touch if necessary to discuss how we can best support you. All information is treated with the strictest confidence.
Some of the support we can provide includes:
- Reserved seating in session rooms for those with mobility needs or sensory impairments.
- A small number of hotel bedrooms across the site adapted for those with a disability or specific mobility needs.
- The loan of a mobility scooter for the duration of the event (subject to availability).
- More detailed information about what to expect from different parts of the event.
Do you provide subsidised places for carers?
For participants who require the support of a carer to undertake daily living tasks, please contact the Limmud office at office@limmud.org for more information on a subsidised carer place.
What other support and facilities does Limmud offer?
There are a number of facilities provided to help make your Festival experience as positive as possible, including:
- Orientation sessions to help participants get to know the Festival site.
- A Helpdesk, open throughout Festival, where you can ask any question or raise any concern.
- A wellbeing programme with resources and activities to support your welfare.
- A sensory room that’s quiet and a place for self-regulation for anyone who needs a personal time-out.
- A hoist facility in the Hilton swimming pool (additional cost per participant, per use; not available on all Festival dates due to Christmas closures).
- A paramedic on site throughout Festival, should you have any health issues.
- Large printed copies of the Shabbat programme, available on request (this does not include the full Festival programme; all programme information can be accessed through our online app or downloadable PDF, which allow you to zoom in and view session details.
