Meal time experience
Limmud places a great amount of emphasis on participant care and enjoyment, including in the dining experience. Whether you fancy a slightly quieter mealtime, need to meet your friends and let them know where you will be or want to grab your lunch and head to as many sessions as possible, we’ve got all of that covered. Plus we have some exciting new dinner time options for those of you who really want to make the most out of Festival.
Type of food available
Limmud Festival caters for all of your culinary needs. Every meal will have a variety of options including food suitable for all those with special dietary needs. Volunteers will always be available to help you find something. If you have any additional dietary requirements, please make sure to mention them on your registration form.
At every meal there will be variety, and at Lunch and Dinner there will be multiple venues serving different foods.
For lunch, Limmud Festival will continue to offer “Grab-n-Go”: sandwiches, salad and soup available to take away. This option is particularly good if you have lots to get to and want to grab something speedy.
At dinner, we will again have an alternative dining experience. We will continue to serve exceptional food in our main dining room and will be offering a street food experience, including meat, vegetarian and vegan options. This food will be exciting, filled with flavour and bursting with fun with the option to take-away or sit-in and soak up the atmosphere!
Finally, after dinner is finished and the bar is in full swing, you will be able to purchase late night bar-snacks and hot food to get you through the night.
There will be children’s food served at every meal of the day at our Families’ dining room in the Crowne Plaza. If you have any questions about families’ food then please get in touch and we will be delighted to help.
The Limmud Bar
One of the buzzing and vibrant centres of the Limmud Festival experience, the Limmud Bar will once again be a great place to catch up with friends and make new connections with other participants. Not only will all of your favourite drinks be available from one of the many bar volunteers who will be waiting to help you out, but there will also be a cocktail of the day for you to sample. Whether you’re getting into the party spirit or unwinding after another great day, the Limmud Bar will certainly be a place you can’t miss!
Sometimes you’re looking for something a bit different in the evening to the regular bar. The wine bar will offer a more sophisticated and quieter experience for those seeking something totally different. Whatever you’re looking for, there will be something just waiting for you at Limmud Festival.
Whether you need a hot drink to refuel, a small bite to eat or just a comfortable place to meet friends, the Limmud Cafe will be the perfect place for you. The Cafe will be open all day, every day of Limmud Festival, serving top quality coffee and a range of home-made cakes and baked treats.
Late Night Food
Sometimes, later in the evening, you just need some extra food and our Late Night Food options will solve that in a hurry. There will be a range of delicious light hot food options and bar snacks for everyone – meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans alike.
Making a more ecological and sustainable Limmud
Limmud has been around for 37 years: Think of all the drink stations, printed hand-outs and eat-and-go meals that have been used by Limmud participants over that time! With a great possibility that Festival will host 3000 participants this year and the intention to keep growing in the years to come, we can see that Limmud’s environmental impact will also continue to grow. We want this impact to be just as positive for those that attendees and the environment.
We aim to provide information to participants about Limmud’s ecological values and encourage others to become more aware of how Limmud impacts the world in more ways than you think.
We will be ensuring there is more emphasis around recycling and food wastage, and will be encouraging everyone to think twice before using another disposable cup for their fresh cup of tea. We’re encouraging all participants to bring their own reusable flask/hot-drink cup and water bottle at Festival. Why not purchase your own Limmud Festival coffee cup and water bottle on the application form when you apply?
We want this year to see a big step towards creating a more ecological and sustainable Limmud for now and the future.
