Maggid

Maggid means ‘one who tells’. In order to respond to slavery and fear, we must listen carefully to those who have something to tell.

Magda Rubenfeld Koralewska is Limmud’s Central and Eastern Europe Coordinator, and also trustee of the Krakow-based Jewish NGO FestivALT.  FestivALT, as a dedicated Arts and Activism organization, was the first in Krakow to organize an exhibition of original work by Ukrainian artists. The Fight With Art exhibition, featured contributions from 14 Ukrainian artists, and will conclude with a charitable auction of the art, the proceeds being divided between Artists and charitable organizations supporting Ukrainian supplies, Ukrainian evacuees in Poland and displaced animals in need from Ukraine.

FestivALT also launched a weekly Seniors Welcoming and Integration Program. The programme gives Ukrainian Seniors a comfortable place to relax, socialise and enjoy coffee and cakes. The main goal of this program is to engage Ukrainian Seniors in a vital conversation to ask, listen and understand what services and assistances they need most urgently to aid them in adjusting to their new lives in Krakow.
