Limmud North America has built on the success of its first eFestival with a second virtual convention attended by thousands across Canada and the US with additional participants from across the world.
Actress Mayim Bialik headlined the opening celebration session, and other featured sessions included Michelle Obama’s chief speechwriter, Sarah Hurwitz, Superman writer Brian Bendis, former Watergate Assistant Prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks, Rabbi Shai Held from Hadar, and Yehuda Kurtzer from the Shalom Hartman Institute.
Described by Limmud North America National Director David Singer as “bigger and bolder than anything we have done before”, the programme encompassed almost 50 sessions combining the worlds of entertainment, philosophy, Jewish text, and politics.
The event is part of a consistent drive by Limmud North America to ensure that “Jewish connection and discovery are not collateral damage of the pandemic” in the words of Limmud North America Board Member, Tony Abrams.
