3000 participants from more than 30 countries joined Limmud Together
With participants from five continents, Limmud Together offered a unique opportunity through the COVID-19 lockdown to help people take one step closer to each other while continuing their Jewish journey.
An entirely virtual one day Limmud event, organized by a UK-based volunteer team in the space of just a few weeks, Limmud Together was attended by more than 500 people who had never attended a Limmud event before. It also marked the first online event for many people joining, and a special team was dedicated to helping these first-timers navigate the virtual event rooms.
Limmud Together UK brought together presenters from around the world, pairing Rabbi Jeffrey Myers of Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue with Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg of London’s New North London Synagogue, together with UK presenters including the award-winning author Howard Jacobson, Baroness Ruth Deech of the House of Lords and the cast and crew of the Prince of Egypt musical.
Some sessions contained as many as 750 screens, and many more people.
