A pioneering partnership between Limmud and London’s Jewish Cultural Centre JW3 created a different kind of learning opportunity around the festival of Shavuot.
Described by one educator as “the best quality cultural Jewish programme I’ve seen in years”. 300 people engaged with presenters from the UK, US, Canada and Continental Europe, gathering the night before the festival at a virtual Mount Sinai.
Sessions included a Yiddish version of The Lord of the Rings, discussion of the Women’s Midrash, an exploration of trauma and inner darkness, and the event finished at 3:30am Central Europe Time/2:30am UK time with everyone dancing on video to the Rebbetzen’s Disco.
(This event took place on Wednesday 27 May 2020)
